My Story…
On June 17th I will be racing in Bellwood's Annual Run For Recovery 5 Km Event with New Start Foundation. This year my kids- Jakob, Lily and Levi will be participating with me. We are one strong unit and we hope you will consider supporting our fundraising goal of raising $5,000.00. We need your help to reach out fundraising goals!
About the Run - EHN Canada (Edgewood Health Networks have facilities for Mental Health and Addiction across Canada), is helping to organize and raise money in support of the New Start Foundation which creates bursuray's for youth and peoples needing mental health and addiction treatment. This foundation is very close to my heart. This is the second year I have had the pleasure of being on the committee to organize this event and represent EHN Canada as an Ambassador. A true labour of love for me.
I am a person in recovery who received support from Bellwood Health Services a number of years ago and can attest to the high quality of care someone struggling with this disease will receive. I am very much walking proof that help is out there and a life of purpose and meaning is for anyone's taking.

This is an opportunity collectively, for us to help someone struggling and in desperate need of life saving care. Let's break down and remove barriers for someone suffering with mental health and addiction that otherwise would not have access to these resources and needs urgent, quality care.

Description
This year funds will support two priorities at New Start Foundation, including our new Youth inpatient wing at Bellwood and our recently launched Alumni New Start Bursary Fund.
The New Start Bellwood Youth wing will provide intensive evidence-based day treatment for youth ages 13-18 who are affected by a range of psychiatric illness.
The Bellwood Alumni Bursary Fund which will provide grants to Bellwood clients post-treatment to get them back on their feet.
